Katy Ovington

As a Senior Associate at Third Rock Ventures, Katy focuses on creating biotechnology companies that translate breakthrough science into transformative medicines for patients. She partners with scientists, clinicians, and entrepreneurs to build companies around emerging scientific discoveries with the potential to transform treatment for serious diseases.

Prior to joining Third Rock, Katy held scientific roles at a 4:59 Initiative NewCo, Dyne Therapeutics, and Iris Medicine. Across these roles, she contributed to early scientific discovery, therapeutic development, and the scientific foundations of new venture-backed biotechnology companies.

Katy earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where her research focused on ALS disease biology and RNA therapeutics. She is driven by the challenge of translating scientific discoveries into enduring biotechnology companies.

Outside of work, Katy enjoys spending time in the gym, cycling, and traveling back to the United Kingdom to visit family and friends.
