At Third Rock, Hugo works on company creation in areas where new scientific, technological and clinical advances intersect with a patient need for new medicines. Prior to Third Rock, Hugo was at the Novartis Venture Fund working in the investment team. Before that, he was at Novartis where he collaborated with the NIBR and Corporate Strategy teams on a number of projects and was in the research organization in the Chemical Biology and Therapeutics group. He is passionate about learning new mechanistic insights, and understanding the ‘how?’, across all areas of Biology and is amazed at the complexity and elegance of biological systems. In every project, he is driven first and foremost by the patient experience and the pursuit of disease modifying therapies.

Outside of the office, Hugo enjoys running, cooking and baking and traveling to new corners of the world.
