Maomao Zhang

Maomao joined TRV as a Senior Associate in 2022 and helps build companies at Third Rock that translate sound, innovative science from the lab to patients. She was most recently a Senior Scientist on the Oncology team at Calico Life Sciences, where she focused on preclinical development of tumor-intrinsic and IO drug targets. She has a background in cell biology from her PhD at UPenn and her postdoctoral training in cancer genetics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Maomao considers it a privilege to be able to work alongside her brilliant and kind colleagues at TRV to bring the next generation of medicines to patients in oncology and beyond.

Fun fact: Maomao is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is a proud Yooper. In her spare time, she can be found at a playground, hiking trail or beach with her young daughter and husband.
