Brian Chow joined Third Rock Ventures in 2010. He focuses on new company formation and due diligence.

Prior to joining Third Rock Ventures, Brian was a post-doctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working with Dr. Edward S. Boyden, and held engineering roles at IBM. He is also a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, and serves as a scientific consultant to various companies with biomedical and nanotechnology focuses.

Brian holds a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Media Laboratory, and BS in Chemistry from Stanford University.

Todd Holmes joined Third Rock Ventures in 2011. He focuses on new company formation and due diligence and is actively involved in the support and management of select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Third Rock Ventures, Todd held investment roles with SR One, the corporate venture capital subsidiary of GlaxoSmithKline, and BVF Partners, a public markets-focused fundamental investment firm. Prior to that, Todd served as an associate in the early-stage life sciences lending practice at SVB Financial Group.

Todd holds an MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in Economics from Colgate University.

James McLaughlin joined Third Rock Ventures in 2011. He focuses on new company formation and due diligence and is actively involved in the support and management of select portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Third Rock Ventures, James held investment roles within the Life Sciences Group at Advanced Technology Ventures (ATV). Prior to that, James served in multiple managerial roles at Ora Inc., an ophthalmic contract research organization, where he was responsible for a translational research group focused on retinal disease and business development.

James holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Colby College.

Deborah Palestrant joined Third Rock Ventures in 2010. She focuses on new company formation and due diligence.

Prior to joining Third Rock Ventures, Deborah was an x-ray crystallographer at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research focusing on structure-based drug design. Before joining Novartis, she was a Damon-Runyon Cancer Research post-doctoral fellow at The Scripps Research Institute.

Deborah holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from Columbia University, an MBA from Northeastern University, and a BS in Biochemistry from UCLA.
